Lessons
At Rose City Mahjong we believe that small group lessons work best for learning the game.
We recognize that everyone learns at a different pace and we encourage cooperative learning. We use the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) card and teach NMJL rules.
We use memory tricks, we repeat things in many different ways so that everyone understands, we are patient, and we encourage laughter over frustration!
We recommend at least two lessons to start, followed by some guided open play sessions. Mahjong takes a while to “sink in” and the best way to learn the game is by playing the game!
